Born on July 28,
1940, I grew up and finished high school in Thomasville, N.C. In
1958, entered Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Company Apprentice School,
in Newport News, Va. and finished my apprenticeship in 1963 as a Hull Designer.
After working in
the Shipyard until 1967, I took various job positions in the shipbuilding
industry working on the East Coast, Gulf Coast and West Coast. Entered the
University
of Michigan in 1970, graduated with a BSE in Naval Architecture and Marine
Engineering
in 1972 and moved to the Washington, D.C. area and with a partner, started our
own
engineering company.
In 1989, I sold
my share of the company and moved back home to Thomasville where
I met and recently married Sadie Ball. I have been a Porsche addict for many,
many
years and bought my first Porsche in 1984, a 1976 912E, which I still own. Over
the
years I have owned several other Porsches that I either traded or sold but have
managed
to accumulated my current car family which includes a 2001 Boxster S; 1989 911
Speedster;
1964 356C, and a 1979 911SC.
Over the years I
have been active in various car clubs and associations and have been
an active member of PCA for several years. Sadie and I and our dog CHANCE, make
our
home in Thomasville, and we are looking forward to fun and fellowship through
out the
coming years with all our Porsche and PCA family members.
