Carolinas Region Sponsor Chair

Perhaps borderline Yankee, I was born in Washington DC and raised in
Annapolis MD.  I migrated south, attending engineering school at
Virginia Tech and then graduate school at Georgia Tech.  I
currently work for IBM from my home office in Asheville where I
utilize vast amounts of data, advanced analytic techniques,
and data mining to help IBM deliver the best products and services to
our clients.  This background helps me as the Sponsors Chair for the
Carolinas Region, where we're working on new plans and programs to help
provide value to prospective sponsors in our region.

A relatively new member to PCA, I purchased a 2002 996 and joined the club in 2008.
I've been an active member of BMWCCA and BMW Motorcycle Owner's Association
since the late 1990s.  As a motorsport enthusiast and work-at-home employee, I
wanted to become more involved in the club and to take advantage of the
opportunities and events offered in the region.  I attended my first
Mountain Area meeting the month I joined and scheduled my first PCA
Driver's Ed event in September of 2008.  I also signed up for the Fall
Tour 2008 and my wife and I had a great drive and met more great members.

Before I knew it, I had been drafted into the Porschefest 2009 planning
committee and had begun my path down the slippery slope of club
participation.  I signed up for the next 3 consecutive DEs, 1 at VIR and
2 at CMP, and in the hands of my capable instructor (initials H.Y.) had
progressed along at a solid pace - always testing his patience and
stimulating healthy doses of adrenaline to keep us both attentive.
Concurrently, I attended the area meetings and extended Porschefest
planning meetings every month until our event in May 2009.  It looks
like we'll be working to host another Porschefest in Asheville in 2010,
too!  So, while my history is very brief, it's been full of fantastic
memories.  I've quickly realized that the club returns what you're
willing to put into it - and for me, it's been tremendous fun, a bit of
hard work, and most importantly I've met lot's of new friends.  I look
forward to meeting you at our next club event.
