Catherine Bonfiglio

As Communications Chair for the Carolinas Region of PCA, Catherine brings more than 30 years of professional experience in communications and media relations. A native Californian, Catherine served for 14 years as a legislative and media specialist for the California Legislature. Following her work in the political arena, Catherine worked as a Public Affairs Officer for the American Red Cross chapter in Los Angeles. In that role, she was responsible for media relations and emergency communications in response to natural disasters including the Northridge earthquake. Catherine also served for ten years as a Public Information Officer in the public health arena. Beginning in 1995, Catherine oversaw media relations and health risk communications for the Washoe District Health Department in Reno, Nevada. Following the move to North Carolina in 2003, she served in that same capacity for two years at the Gaston County Health Department. Since 2005, Catherine has worked as a Communication Specialist for the City of Charlotte, where she is responsible for marketing and media relations for several City departments. She also serves as writer and editor for the City’s internal newsletter distributed every two weeks to 6000 employees and retirees of the City of Charlotte.
Both Catherine and her husband Vince are car enthusiasts, having grown up in the Southern California car culture. Vince spent 19 years as a Porsche Master Technician for Bob Smith Porsche in Hollywood California. He is now the Shop Foreman for Hendrick BMW in Charlotte. Their car collection includes Catherine’s ’83 SC, and 1978 VW Beetle convertible. Vince has owned two 911’s. Currently he has a 1932 Ford Roadster and a 1950 Chevy Bel-Air, both of which he restored himself. They live in Matthews with their dog Angus.
